WOW, it's been a long time since we've updated this site!
Pharmacy Council would like to thank everyone who helped out and came to our annual picnic! It was a great success, and we couldn't have done it without the support of our faculty and fellow classmates. Now back to business, Pharmacy Council will be selling wrist bands for $5 each. These will allow students to wear non-business casual clothing pre-finals. We will be elaborating on this particular fundraiser at our next meeting [WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18th], so please join us if you would like to hear more details! Happy Studying! This Monday (January 30th), Ms. Lewis conducted a meeting with Pharmacy Council and all UHCOP organizations along with their advisors to go over the updated Student Organization Handbook. One of the topics that brought more feedback and discussion to the floor pertained to the sale of “required” organization items stated in the bylaws [Article VII, Amendment 1]. The issue: there are those who were dissatisfied with the uneven distribution of wealth among the organizations. The organizations that provided items deemed required and also more practical and/or useful garnered the most monetary compensation while those that only sold recommended products were not as well off. In order to ameliorate the situation, ideas such as profit-sharing, allotting items based on a lottery system, and having a system based on rotating such items were suggested.
Pharmacy Council is opening up this forum for discussion so we can gather as many opinions and feedback possible before our next meeting. We would LOVE to hear/read what you have to input! According to the bylaws, the following organizations may sell required educational items as follows: APhA-ASP & SSHP: White Coats & Patches PDC: FGA Books KY: Drug Cards KE: Name badges CPFI: Blood Pressure Kits NCPA: Calculations and Compounding Books VAPSS: Red Polo shirts Rho Chi: Law Book SIPS : Clickers MAPSA: Calling cards Pharmacy Council highly encourages that all UHCOP organizations get a move on petitioning the AFB on getting reimbursements and funding for their conferences and other programs. Since money is tight, why not try to see if you can garner some from our Tier 1 University? The link is below.
